The mission of the Raze Early Learning and Development Center, Inc. is to demolish the divisive and traumatic current narrative of the black student in education. We provide safe, high quality care for the working families in our community. Through student observation, family, and community partnership we provide culturally immersive individualized curriculum instruction that validates and affirms black culture. We will employ culturally responsive teaching strategies that create culturally safe environments, fosters understanding of differences, establishes self-worth and builds self-esteem, as well as creates attainable high standards for the students to ensure kindergarten readiness. In doing so we believe that we will set the stage to eradicate the blinding stereotypes that have perpetuated the preschool to prison pipeline. Raze Early Learning and Development Center, Inc. is a safe place for ALL students as it will take ALL of us to raze the narrative.

Our vision is to raze the bias driven narrative that feeds the suppression of quality education to black students, to teach ALL students a holistic American history highlighting the black excellence woven into its very fabric.

FAQ's

What is Raze?

Raze is an Early Learning and Development Center in which we seek to teach students from all backgrounds about other cultures as well as raising up students of color so that they are supported in a safe learning environment.

Where are we located?

We are now working on opening our first location in the Shadle area of Spokane. We are planning to have another Raze center established either within the Chief Garry or Central Spokane area in the 2022 Academic Year.

Who can attend Raze?

Raze is a holistic Black American Early Learning center that is for everyone! We pride ourselves in being inclusive as well as working to change the narrative of the Black student.

What can you do to help?
